Mobile social networking has the capacity to bring people together in real time allowing them to communicate easily with their network of friends, family, and associates. In addition to the personal uses of mobile social networking, there are numerous business applications. Examples of businesses using social networking include, farmers communicating commodity prices with customers, news organizations broadcasting information, and businesses communicating job availability all via SMS.
Humari Awaz (Our Voice – Pakistan)
Mobile Accord was the first to create a SMS based mobile social network and remains at the forefront of the technology. On October 29, 2009 Mobile Accord launched Humari Awaz (Our Voice) a mobile social network based in Pakistan and sponsored by US State Department. To date over 250 million messages have been sent on the network. Humari Awaz utilizes five different wireless operators in Pakistan, connecting more that 95 million Pakistanis to the social network. The Our Voice platform is operator agnostic and can be integrated with any wireless operator in the world.
